The /studioapp skill teaches your AI how Studio works (see The /studioapp Skill). How you add it depends on your AI app and your computer. The easiest way is to go to AI → Connected AI, open Connect your AI, pick your app, and choose Mac or Windows under Your computer. The Teach it Studio step then shows the exact command with your workspace's download link already in it.
Apps with no terminal: Claude and ChatGPT
- Claude (website or desktop app), Mac or Windows: click Download skill. In Claude, open Settings → Capabilities → Skills, choose Upload skill, and pick
studioapp.zipfrom your Downloads folder. - ChatGPT, Perplexity, Viktor and others: click Copy instructions and paste them where the app takes instructions, such as a ChatGPT Project or a custom GPT.
Apps set up from a terminal
Open a terminal first (see How to Open a Terminal), then paste the command from Studio. Here is where each one puts the skill:
- Claude Code: Mac
~/.claude/skills/studioapp, WindowsC:\Users\YourName\.claude\skills\studioapp. Afterward, type/studioappin Claude Code or just ask about Studio. - Codex: Mac
~/.codex/skills/studioapp, WindowsC:\Users\YourName\.codex\skills\studioapp. - Grok: Mac
~/.grok/skills/studioapp, WindowsC:\Users\YourName\.grok\skills\studioapp. - Gemini CLI: added to the end of
GEMINI.mdin the.geminifolder in your home folder.
Editors: Cursor and VS Code
Open the project you work in, open the editor's terminal (View → Terminal), and paste the command. It is added to that project only:
- Cursor: saved as the rule
.cursor/rules/studioapp.mdc. - VS Code with GitHub Copilot: added to
.github/copilot-instructions.md.
Good to know
- The download link in each command is private to your workspace and expires after a while. If a command stops working, copy a fresh one from Connected AI.
- Running the command again is safe: it replaces the old skill with the newest one. Do this when Studio adds new abilities.
- The skill teaches; it does not connect. Connect your AI first: see Connecting Your AI App to Studio.
