How to Talk to Your AI About Studio

Connected AI

Once your AI app is connected, you just talk to it, the same way you'd ask a coworker. No special commands are needed. You don't type /studioapp or anything else first: if you added the Studio plugin or the /studioapp skill, your AI uses it on its own when you ask about Studio.

The one habit that helps

Mention Studio in your question, for example "Using Studio, …" or "In Studio, …". Your AI may have other tools connected too, and this tells it where to look.

Look things up

  • Using Studio, what's the latest comment in my projects?
  • Using Studio, what projects are due this week?
  • Using Studio, who signed up for Sunday's event?
  • Using Studio, show me the details of the Fall Retreat.
  • Using Studio, who's in the Tuesday Night Group?
  • Using Studio, what's on my to-do list?

Count, compare and find gaps

  • Using Studio, how many new people did we add last month?
  • Using Studio, which people aren't in any group?
  • Using Studio, how many contacts have only an email address?
  • Using Studio, how did giving this month compare to last month? (Money is view only.)
  • Using Studio, hours per client last month.

Make a change

  • Using Studio, move the Fall Retreat from Dec 3 to Dec 6.
  • Using Studio, assign me to ELI-1003.
  • Using Studio, add a to-do to call Sarah tomorrow at 10.
  • Using Studio, add Ana Ruiz to the Next Steps pathway.
  • Using Studio, draft an email to the volunteers about Saturday's setup.

Anything that emails people, publishes or goes live waits for a person to approve it in AI → Approvals. Removing something always asks you first.

Tips

  • Use your own names. An event or group name, a project code like ELI-1003, a person's name or email, or "me" for yourself.
  • If two things share a name, your AI asks which one you mean. Just answer.
  • Use your workspace's words. If you call People "Supporters" or Clients "Ministries", say that. Your AI understands.
  • Follow up naturally. "Now only the ones who haven't paid" or "Undo that" both work.

If something goes wrong

  • "Unknown command: /studioapp" means the skill isn't installed in that app. You don't need it: ask your question without the slash. To add the skill, see The /studioapp Skill.
  • It answers without looking in Studio: start your question with "Using Studio, …".
  • "Needs authentication": sign in again. In Claude Code type /mcp, choose Studio, then Authenticate.
