Some teams want a manager to sign off on completed work before it closes — especially when staff don't have admin access. Manager review is an optional workflow your workspace can turn on.
Turning manager review on
Manager review is a workspace-level setting. It's off by default; ask your Studio administrator to enable it for your workspace. Once it's on, the work-orders list shows a banner reminding staff that completed work goes to a manager for sign-off before it closes.
How the flow changes
With review off (default):
Open → In progress → Completed — staff mark it done and it's closed.
With review on:
Open → In progress → Awaiting review → Completed — staff submit for review, then a manager either approves and closes it or sends it back for rework (returns it to In progress with notes).
Who can approve a review?
Anyone with the Facility manager or Administrator role on the workspace. The original staff member can't approve their own work.
Reviewing rejected work
If a manager rejects, the work order goes back to In progress with the manager's notes visible in the activity panel. The assigned staff member is notified and can address the feedback, then submit again.
When to use review
Turn this on if you have outside contractors, volunteer maintenance teams, or you simply want documentation that someone double-checked the work. Turn it off for trusted internal staff where the extra step is friction.
