Spaces are the physical rooms (and areas, buildings, floors) people can reserve. You need at least one before anything else in Facilities works.
How to add a space
- In the sidebar, click Facilities → Spaces.
- Click + Add space.
- Fill in:
- Name — what people will see (e.g. "Fellowship Hall", "Room 204").
- Campus / Location — which physical site this space is at. (Studio labels this "Campus" for churches and ministries, "Location" for everyone else.)
- Type — pick Room for most spaces. Building / Floor / Wing are for grouping. Outdoor for patios, lawns, fields.
- Capacity — max headcount.
- Hourly rate — only if you bill external groups for using it. Leave blank for free internal use.
- Setup / Teardown minutes — see the article on buffers.
- Choose your toggles:
- Reservable — can people book this space? Off for storage closets, hallways, etc.
- Public — does this space show on your public room calendar? Off keeps it internal.
- Requires approval — must an admin sign off before a reservation is confirmed? See the approval workflow article.
- Click Create space.
Grouping spaces (Building → Floor → Room)
You can nest spaces under each other. Create a "Main Building" of type Building, then create rooms with their Parent space set to Main Building. This is useful for reporting (utilization per building) and for blocking — if you reserve the whole Main Building for a conference, every room inside it becomes unavailable automatically.
