Booking type settings explained

Booking

Every setting on a booking type, and what it actually changes for the person booking.

Length

How long the appointment runs. A 30-minute type booked at 9:00 ends at 9:30.

Start times every

How far apart the offered times are. Leave it blank and times step by the length — a 30-minute type offers 9:00, 9:30, 10:00. Set it to 15 and the same type offers 9:00, 9:15, 9:30, so appointments can overlap the half-hour grid.

Buffer before / after

Protected time either side of an appointment. With a 15-minute buffer after, a booking that ends at 9:30 means the next one cannot start until 9:45.

Minimum notice

How much warning you need. Set to 240 (four hours) nobody can grab a slot inside the next four hours. This is the setting that stops someone booking you for twenty minutes from now.

Bookable up to

How far ahead people may book. Default is 60 days.

Max per day

A cap per host per day. Once the cap is hit, the whole day disappears from the picker. Leave blank for no cap.

Location

Online, Phone, In person, or A room. Choosing a room ties the booking to your Facilities spaces, so the room itself cannot be double-booked. Whatever you put in Location details — a meeting link, an address, dialing instructions — is shown to the visitor and included in the confirmation.

Requests need my approval

Bookings arrive as pending and hold the time until you approve them from the appointments list. The visitor is told it is a request, not a confirmation.

Listed publicly / Accepting bookings

Turn Accepting bookings off to close a page without deleting it. Existing appointments are untouched.
