If you give on behalf of one or more businesses (your company, LLC, family foundation, etc.), each one is saved under My Companies on your profile. This is where you keep their name, receipt email, and address up to date.
Where to find it
Sign in to usestudio.app/account → click your avatar → My Account → My Companies in the left sidebar.
The tab only appears when you actually have linked businesses. If you've never given as a business, you won't see it.
What you can do
- Edit the business name, receipt email, and full address (street, city, state, ZIP). Changes apply to every nonprofit's record of your business across all the organizations you've given to — Studio keeps your business records consistent everywhere.
- Merge two near-duplicate entries (e.g. "Acme LLC" and "Acme, LLC") into one — pick which name to keep, and the other gets renamed to match. Past gifts stay attached to their original nonprofit records.
- Remove a business — archives it from your portal view. Past gifts and receipts stay attached to the original nonprofit records for audit purposes; you just stop seeing the business on your dashboard. You can re-add it later by giving as that business again.
How businesses get added
You can't add a business pre-flight from the profile page. The way to register a new business with Studio is to give as it once:
- Open any donation form.
- Toggle Giving as a business on.
- Enter the business name, receipt email, and confirm the owner attestation.
- Complete the gift.
The business now appears under My Companies and prefills automatically on future business gifts.
Why ownership matters
The first time you give as a business, you confirm you're an owner. That checkbox is what links the business to you as the owner of record. After that, you don't see the checkbox again for that business — Studio remembers.
If you stop owning a business, hit Remove and Studio archives the link. The nonprofits keep their record of past gifts; only your portal stops showing it.
