If you give on behalf of a company, LLC, family foundation, or other organization, Studio lets you make that gift under the business's name without creating a separate account.
How to give as a business
- Open any Studio donation form.
- Enter your gift amount and pick a fund (if the form has them).
- Toggle Giving as a business on.
- The name field swaps from your personal name to the business's name. The receipt email defaults to the email on file for the business but you can change it.
- If this is a brand-new business (your first time giving as it), check the box "I confirm I'm an owner of this business or organization."
- Continue to payment as normal.
Already have a business on file?
Once you've given as a business once, it's saved to your account under My Companies. Next time you toggle "Giving as a business" while signed in:
- If you have one business — its name and receipt email auto-fill, and you don't need to re-confirm ownership.
- If you have two or more businesses — a dropdown appears so you can pick which business this gift is from. No re-confirmation needed.
- Pick "Other business…" from the dropdown if you're giving as a brand-new entity. The owner-attestation checkbox reappears.
The receipt
The receipt is issued in the business's name (not yours personally) and goes to the business's receipt email. The nonprofit's side of the record shows the business as the donor of record — important for the IRS-formatted year-end statement.
Your account still tracks it
Even though the gift is under the business's name, you can see it in your donor portal under Giving. Use the "Giving as" filter dropdown to switch between All my giving, Personal, or any of your businesses.
Your login is always you, not the business
Your account always represents you, the human. Businesses are things you own, not things you log in as. The avatar in the header always shows your name — never a business name.
