Design review

Plans

Free workspaces can have three reviews open at a time. Approving one frees a slot, which is the habit you want anyway. Paid plans are unmetered.

Files you have only opened and not commented on do not count against that — a look is not a review.

The Review button is not on my file

The file is a type we cannot draw — a ZIP, a Word document, a spreadsheet. Images, PDFs, design exports, and video get the button; everything else does not.

"Could not prepare this file"

Preparing the file for markup failed. Nothing is lost and no comments were affected — you are shown the failure with a retry rather than a blank canvas, because comments dropped on a blank canvas land nowhere.

The usual causes are a corrupt export or an unusually large file. Re-export and upload it as a new version.

Nobody got notified

Nothing is sent until somebody leaves a comment. Opening a design — even the first time — deliberately tells no one. Once a comment exists, everyone on the review is notified.

My comment went to the wrong version

Check the version dropdown in the top bar. Comments always attach to the version on screen, and older rounds stay open for reading. Switch to the current one before commenting.

I cannot comment on this version

It has been approved or sent back, which freezes it. Upload a new version to start the next round.

Internal projects

A review on an internal project is staff-only and never reaches a client — including a file attached to a staff-only comment on a project the client can otherwise see. That is set when the review is created and does not change afterwards.
