Understanding Security Codes and Labels

Check-Ins

Every time a family checks in, the system generates a unique 3-character security code. This code is the key to child safety during your service.

What prints

  • Child label (one per child) — shows the child's first name, last initial, security code (large), room name, grade, date, and allergies if any.
  • Parent receipt (one per family) — shows the security code (large), all checked-in children's names, event name, and "Present this label at pickup."

How codes work

  • Codes are 3 characters long (e.g. "A4K", "7WN") using letters and numbers that can't be confused — no 0/O, 1/I/L.
  • Each code is unique per event per day. No two families will get the same code during one service.
  • At pickup, the volunteer matches the parent's receipt code to the child's label before releasing the child.

Allergies on labels

If a child has allergies (anything other than "None"), they appear prominently on the child's label so location volunteers see them immediately. This is especially important for snack time.
