What is Check-In?

Check-Ins

Check-In is Studio's self-service attendance and check-in system. It works for children's ministry, youth groups, adult small groups, events, classes, volunteer teams — anywhere you need to track who showed up.

How it works

  1. Walk up to a station — an iPad, laptop, or any device with a browser.
  2. Search by phone, last name, or email to find yourself or your family.
  3. Select who to check in — for children's ministry, parents select their kids. For groups and events, individuals check themselves in.
  4. A security code prints on labels — for children, this includes a parent receipt for safe pickup. For adults, it serves as a name tag or attendance record.

Use cases

  • Children's ministry — parents check kids in, children get assigned to age/grade rooms, security codes ensure safe pickup.
  • Youth group — teenagers check themselves in at a station. Track attendance week-to-week.
  • Small groups — Wednesday night Bible study, track who attended.
  • Events — conferences, retreats, workshops. Know who showed up.
  • Volunteer teams — volunteers check in when they arrive to serve. Background check enforcement optional.
  • Classes — membership classes, discipleship courses, recovery programs.

Security codes (children's ministry)

For children's check-in, every session generates a unique 3-character code (like "A4K"). This code appears on both the child's label and the parent's receipt. No one can pick up a child without a matching code.

First-time visitors

If someone isn't in the system yet, they can tap "New Family? Sign Up Here" on the station to register and check in immediately.
