Check-In isn't just for kids. You can use it to track attendance for any group, event, or service — including adults.
Small group attendance
Set up a station for your small group (e.g. "Wednesday Night Study"). Members search by their phone number or name and check themselves in. No age/grade rules needed — just create a location with no filters and everyone qualifies.
Event check-in
For conferences, retreats, or workshops, create a one-time schedule linked to the event. Attendees check in at a station at the door. The Live Dashboard shows real-time attendance counts.
Youth group
Teenagers check themselves in — no parent required. Create locations with grade filters (e.g. grades 6–8 for middle school, 9–12 for high school). Youth leaders see who's there via the Location View display.
Volunteer check-in
Create a "Volunteer Only" location. Volunteers check in when they arrive to serve. Optionally require a background check — only approved volunteers can check into locations with "Background Check Required" enabled.
How it differs from children's check-in
- No parent receipt needed — adults check themselves in and out.
- No age/grade rules required — locations can be open to anyone.
- Security codes still generated — useful for name tags and attendance tracking.
- Same metrics — attendance counts flow into Church Metrics for trend reporting.
Setup
The setup is the same as children's check-in:
- Create a service (recurring or one-time)
- Add locations (with or without age/grade/gender filters)
- Create a station and share the station URL
The only difference is the location configuration — for adult groups, you typically create one location with no filters.
