iPad + wireless printer setup

If you're using an iPad as your station, you need a printer that supports AirPrint or has its own app. Here's what we recommend:

  1. Get a Brother QL-820NWB (WiFi + Bluetooth).
  2. Connect the printer to your church WiFi network.
  3. Open the check-in station URL on your iPad.
  4. When labels print, the iPad sends them to the Brother printer over WiFi automatically via the browser print dialog.

Laptop + USB printer setup

Simplest setup — plug in and go:

  1. Get a DYMO LabelWriter 550.
  2. Plug it into your laptop via USB.
  3. Install the DYMO driver (downloads from dymo.com).
  4. Open the station URL. When labels print, they go straight to the DYMO.

No printer? No problem

Check-in works without a printer. The security code displays on the success screen — volunteers can write it on a sticker by hand, or parents can take a photo with their phone. Not ideal for large churches, but fine for small groups and youth rooms.
