Workflows

The Worship Team Application workflow is the Apply to Serve flow with one extra step: an audition. Use it when you need to evaluate musical or vocal ability before bringing someone on stage.

When to use it

Vocalists, musicians, and band members. For tech, production, lights, or sound roles, Apply to Serve is usually a better fit (no audition needed).

The stages

  • Application Received — Worship leader reviews the application. Approve to move toward audition, or reject if there's a clear no.
  • Audition Scheduled — A specific date and time on the calendar. Mark complete once the audition is booked.
  • Audition Completed — After the audition, Approve to continue (good fit) or Reject (not the right time or ability level).
  • Background Check — Automatic. Same as in Apply to Serve.
  • Onboarding — Click track, in-ears, sound check expectations, rehearsal cadence.
  • Joined Worship Team ✓ — They're on the rotation.
  • Not a Fit ✗ — Either musically or for character/availability reasons.

Tips for running it

  • Always meet face-to-face for the audition, even if it's just 20 minutes. You're evaluating presence and teachability, not just notes.
  • Use Comments to record the audition feedback right after — "great voice, needs to learn click track" or "covered Build My Life and Goodness of God in keys G and A."
  • Keep "Not a Fit" warm. Most people aren't ready right now but might be in 6 months. The card stays in the workspace as a record.
