The Get Baptized workflow walks a person from a baptism signup all the way through the day, and a follow-up touch after.
When to use it
Any baptism signup — whether it came from a connect card on Sunday, the website, or a one-on-one conversation with a pastor. One card per person.
The stages
- Signed Up — Just came in. Awaiting first contact.
- Pastor Follow-Up — A conversation about what baptism means, what to expect, and to confirm readiness. Approve to advance, or Reject if the person decides to wait.
- Baptism Class — Attended the class (if your church requires one). Mark complete when they've finished.
- Scheduled — A specific date on the calendar.
- Day-Of Follow-Up — The text or call after the baptism: "How are you feeling? Send us a photo!"
- Baptized ✓ — Done. The card stays as a record.
- Withdrew ✗ — They decided to wait or didn't follow through. Use without judgment — many come back later.
Tips for running it
- Move fast on the first follow-up. Within 48 hours of the signup is ideal. Momentum matters.
- Use Comments on the card to capture their story: "first heard about Jesus from her grandmother in Honduras" — the pastor doing the baptism will love having this on the day.
- Pair with the Commit to Christ workflow. If someone made a new decision and is being baptized, run both workflows in parallel. They serve different purposes.
- Day-Of Follow-Up matters. A photo, a text, a "we're so glad you took this step." It's the easiest stage to skip and the most meaningful one to keep.
