Help Center Scheduler Suggesting a Sub

Suggesting a Sub

Scheduler

Can't make a service you're scheduled for? Instead of just declining, you can suggest a sub — propose someone to cover for you. Your team leader gets the suggestion and either confirms it or finds someone else.

How to suggest a sub

  1. Open Serving Schedule and find the service.
  2. On that row, open the "⋯" (more) menu and choose Suggest a sub.
  3. Enter the person's name and email (a phone and a short message are optional). They don't need to be in the system already.
  4. Choose how to send it (see below), then you'll get a confirmation that it went out.

Keep my spot vs. Release my spot

Both options send the suggestion to your leader — the difference is what happens to you:

  • Keep my spot — you stay scheduled (and on the hook) until your leader actually confirms a replacement. Safest if you're not sure they'll find someone.
  • Release my spot — you're removed from the assignment right away and the slot opens back up. Use this when you definitely can't serve.

Who gets the suggestion?

It goes to the people responsible for that slot — your team leader, the person who made the plan, and whoever assigned you — by email and as a bell notification. They'll review it on the Sub Requests page and confirm or reassign.
