You don't set up banking to start a rally — only to take the money out. That's deliberate: nobody should have to hand over bank details before they know whether anyone will give.
How it works
- While the rally runs, gifts are held safely by Stripe, Studio's payment processor.
- Click End rally when you've finished collecting. This unlocks withdrawal.
- Click Withdraw. Stripe asks for your bank account and enough ID to satisfy the rules that apply to moving money — this is required of every payments company, not a Studio choice.
- Once Stripe approves, your funds transfer to your bank.
What you actually receive
Your net is what was raised, less Studio's 2.5% and Stripe's card processing. The Money tab shows this broken out. Processing is an estimate until each gift settles with Stripe, so the figure can shift by pennies before it finalizes.
Gifts where the supporter ticked cover the fees arrive whole — the fees were added on top of what they gave.
If your rally is hosted by an organization
When a church or nonprofit runs a rally from their own Studio workspace, gifts go straight into their Stripe account as they come in. There's no held balance and no withdraw step. If the rally is for one of their members, the organization receives the money and passes it on the way they normally handle a benevolence gift.
Common questions
- How long does the transfer take? Stripe typically deposits within a couple of business days once your details are approved.
- Can I withdraw partway through? No — end the rally first. You can reopen it afterward if you want to keep collecting.
- Is this taxable? Personal gifts and taxes vary by situation and country. Studio can't advise on it; talk to a tax professional if the amount is meaningful.
