Sponsorships is for the giving model where a donor supports one named person or project month after month — a child, a student, a missionary, a widow, a well. It's different from general giving in one important way: the donor expects a relationship, not just a receipt.
What it handles
- Sponsorees — the people or projects available to sponsor, each with a photo, a story, and their own public page.
- Categories — the groups you organize them into, each with its own public browse page and monthly amount.
- Sponsorships — the ongoing commitments, which you can pause, resume, or cancel.
- Updates — news from the field, written once and sent to everyone sponsoring that person.
- Correspondence — letters between sponsor and sponsoree, reviewed by your team before they're delivered.
- Occasions — scheduled emails around birthdays and anniversaries, sent a set number of days ahead.
- Embeds — put your sponsoree list on your own website.
Why the letters are mediated
When one party is a child, unmediated contact with a stranger is not something to hand-wave. Every letter in either direction lands in a review queue where a member of your team reads it and approves or rejects it before it goes anywhere. Nothing reaches a child that a person on your staff hasn't read.
Who it's for
Sponsorships is available to ministries, missionaries, and nonprofits on a paid plan. Open Sponsorships in the sidebar; if you don't see it, check it's switched on under Settings → Modules.
