Using your own short domain

Short Links & QR Codes

Out of the box your links are on the shared stdo.us domain. Connect your own short domain and they carry your name instead — yourdomain.link/give rather than stdo.us/a1b2c3.

Connect one

  1. Go to Shorts → Short Domain.
  2. Click Connect a short domain and enter the domain or subdomain you want to use.
  3. Add the DNS record shown at your domain provider.
  4. Click Verify. Once it verifies, Studio secures it with HTTPS automatically and the panel reads Connected & secured.

DNS changes usually take a few minutes and occasionally a few hours. Verifying before the record has propagated just fails harmlessly — wait and try again.

Which domain to use

Most organizations register a short domain specifically for this, or use a subdomain of the one they already own. A subdomain like go.yourdomain.com costs nothing extra and is recognizably yours, which is the whole point — people are markedly more willing to scan or tap a link when the domain looks like it belongs to someone they know.

Existing links

Links created before you connected the domain keep working. New ones are minted on your domain.

Plans

A branded short domain is a paid feature — the Shorts page shows an Upgrade prompt if your plan doesn't include it. Creating short links and QR codes on the shared domain doesn't require it.
