Deleting a project or a message thread does not erase it. It moves to the Trash, with its comments, tasks, files, notes and design reviews, and you can bring it back for 30 days.
Find the Trash
- Open a client in the Client Portal.
- On Projects, click the Trash tab beside Active and Archive. On Messages, click Trash beside All.
- Use the search box to find something by name or project code.
Restore
Click Restore. The project or message comes back exactly as it was, with everything on it. Right after you delete something, the Undo button in the notice does the same.
Delete forever
Click Delete forever on one item, or Empty Trash for everything in that client's Trash. You are asked to confirm. This cannot be undone.
Anything left in the Trash for 30 days is deleted for good automatically. Each item shows the date it will be deleted.
Good to know
- Only people who can delete projects (or messages) see the Trash.
- Archive is different: archived projects are finished work you keep. Trash is for things you meant to delete.
- A project in the Trash keeps its project code, so the number is never reused.
- Files of projects in the Trash still count toward your storage until they are deleted for good.
- An AI app can move projects and messages to the Trash (after asking you) and undo it, but it can never delete forever.
