Payment Link: take a one-off payment from anyone

Payments & Processors

Every Studio workspace comes with a Payment Link — a single page where anyone can enter an amount and pay you. It's the simplest way to collect a one-off payment without setting up an invoice, donation form, or event.

When to use it

  • Custom amount, no context. Someone owes you $50 and you just need a way to collect it.
  • In person. Print a QR code on a poster, business card, or receipt — people scan and pay on their phone.
  • Text or email. Send a link with a pre-filled amount: “Pay $25 here → acme.studiofoyer.co/payment?amount=25”.
  • Bridge cases. When you don't want to build a whole donation form or event, but still need to take a payment from this person right now.

What it is (and isn't)

The Payment Link is separate from your donations, invoices, and events — each of those still has its own dedicated flow with their own forms and receipts. The Payment Link is the fourth, simpler option: a catch-all "send us $X" page.

  • Payments are not tax-deductible. Receipts go out as standard payment receipts, not donation acknowledgments.
  • Payments don't appear in Donations, Donor profiles, or year-end statements.
  • Every payment does appear in Transactions, alongside donations, invoice payments, and event tickets, so your unified ledger is complete.

Your Payment Link URL

Your link lives at /payment on your workspace's public subdomain. Two examples:

  • Church / ministry: your-slug.foyer.church/payment
  • Everyone else: your-slug.studiofoyer.co/payment

The URL is the same for every workspace — just replace your-slug. Append ?amount=2500 to pre-fill any dollar amount.

Stripe required

The page is always live and shareable, but it can only accept charges once your workspace has connected Stripe. Until then, visitors see a "not yet connected" message and the form is disabled. See Connecting Your Stripe Account.
