Embedding your events and groups

Embeds & Shortcodes

Go to Events → Share & Embed (or Groups → Share & Embed), choose how you want it to look, and copy the snippet. It looks like this:

<iframe src="https://yourorg.studiofoyer.co/events/embed?view=calendar&open=modal"
        style="width:100%;min-height:720px;border:0" loading="lazy"></iframe>

Paste it into any HTML block on your site. If you're on WordPress with the Studio Connect plugin, use the shortcode instead — it handles sizing for you:

[studio-events view="calendar" open="modal"]
[studio-groups open="inline" limit="6"]

The options

  • view — calendar for a month grid, or grid for cards. Events support both; groups are cards only.
  • open — what happens when someone clicks an item. modal opens a pop-up over the frame, inline turns the frame itself into the detail view with a back link, and tab opens the full Studio page in a new tab.
  • limit — show only the first few. Good for a "what's coming up" strip on a homepage.
  • accent — a hex colour to override your theme colour, if the embed sits on a page with a different palette.

You can edit these directly in the snippet on your own site afterward — changing open="modal" to open="inline" is a one-word edit, no trip back to Studio.

Picking modal vs inline

In a wide content area, modal feels best — the visitor never leaves your page. In a narrow column or a sidebar, a dialog is cramped, so inline reads better. If your site's styling fights the frame, tab always works.

Why groups have no calendar view

Groups meet weekly rather than on a date, so a month grid would repeat the same entries down every column and imply a schedule that isn't real. Cards only, on purpose.

Calendar subscription

The share panel also gives you a subscription link so people can add your events to their own calendar app and have new ones appear automatically:

If something looks off

  • The frame is cut off or has a scrollbar. Raise min-height, or use the WordPress shortcode, which auto-sizes.
  • An event isn't showing. The embed shows published events only — same as your public page. Drafts stay hidden.
  • A group isn't showing. It must be active and open for enrollment.
  • A typo in an option. Nothing breaks — an unrecognised value falls back to the default rather than erroring on your page.
