What is a Contact?

Contacts

A Contact in Studio is anyone you're building a relationship with outside of donations or membership: a prospect, a lead, a vendor, a board candidate, a business partner.

Contacts share the same underlying person record as Donors and Members, so if a contact later donates or joins, their history all threads together.

Contacts vs. Companies

  • Contact — an individual person (Jane at Acme Co).
  • Company — an organization (Acme Co itself).

A contact can be linked to a company, with a job title. One company can have many contacts attached.

When to use Contacts

  • Tracking prospects for a capital campaign.
  • Logging outreach to potential major donors.
  • Keeping a list of partner ministries or vendors.
  • Building a CRM pipeline for your business's services.
